Client & Witness Support
Specialist support for lay clients, witnesses and individuals giving evidence and/or navigating legal processes
Specialist support for those navigating legal proceedings
Navigating legal proceedings and giving evidence - whether in court, an investigation, a disciplinary hearing, a tribunal or another legal process - can be a daunting and emotionally charged experience. Many individuals face anxiety, distress or uncertainty both before and after they are asked to prepare their statement or speak in court.
At Trauma Informed Law, we provide confidential, trauma-informed support to help individuals feel prepared, supported and able to navigate the process with greater confidence.
Preparing to give evidence
Legal proceedings often require individuals to recall events in detail, answer challenging questions and manage the pressures of the legal environment. This can be particularly difficult for those affected by trauma, distressing subject matters or personal circumstances that heighten emotional vulnerability.
Our support offers:
A safe, confidential space to explore concerns about giving evidence.
Support to manage stress, anxiety and emotional overwhelm.
Practical strategies to build confidence and communicate effectively.
Tools to navigate trauma responses and maintain emotional regulation.
By addressing these concerns in advance, individuals can approach the process with greater clarity and engagement.
I would highly recommend the support of Trauma Informed Law, as it was validating and supportive during a daunting and important task in which I worried about being re-traumatised. Through the sessions, I personally felt the legal proceedings to be less intimidating, much more manageable, and safer. Working with Rebecca, I felt seen and understood both before and after testifying.

Why Trauma-Informed Support?
Legal processes do not exist in isolation from human experiences. Trauma, distress and emotional responses can all shape the way individuals engage with proceedings.
Our approach recognises the physiological and psychological impact of these experiences, offering skilled, supportive coaching to help individuals navigate legal processes in a way that prioritises both wellbeing and procedural integrity.

After-Care for Witnesses
The impact of giving evidence doesn’t necessarily end when you leave the courtroom or interview room. Many individuals experience emotional exhaustion, heightened stress responses or a sense of isolation in the aftermath of giving evidence. For those who have spoken about distressing events, the experience can result in the resurfacing of difficult emotions or memories.
We offer specialist after-care support to help witnesses develop resilience tools, process their experience and navigate any ongoing impact.
Before having the witness support sessions I was stressed, emotional and my anxiety was through the roof. After being let down by other services I was lucky enough to come across Trauma Informed Law, Camilla was professional, friendly and put me at ease within the first 10 minutes of our first session. With only 2 weeks until my court date Camilla made sure to fit me in as many times as possible beforehand. During the sessions I became more confident and believed in myself. The support I received was second to none and Camilla went above and beyond to make sure I was at ease and ready for the biggest ordeal of my life. I would recommend this support to anyone in a similar position.
